오픽 말하기 시험 대비하여 반드시 알아 두어야 할 5가지 표준 질문에 대해 살펴봅니다.

 

1. 5년 후의 나의 모습, 사는곳

5. 꾸준한 관심사

 

위 다섯 가지에 대해 영어로 대답을 하는 방법을 살펴보고, 오픽 고득점을 위한 몇가지 모범 대답을 만들어 보겠습니다.

 

이 중에서 나에게 해당하는 부분이 있으면 킵keep 해 두고, 나중에 실제 시험을 대비하여 나만의 대답 노트를 만들어 연습 하시기 바랍니다.

자, 그럼

 

우선, 첫 질문인 5년 후의 나의 모습과 사는 곳에 대해 영어로 질문해 보고 모범 대답은 세 가지 정도 살펴보겠습니다.

 

Q1. “Where do you want to be in five years?”

- where do you see yourself in five years?

- what do you picture yourself doing five years from now?

- where do you expect to be five or ten years from now?

“I hope to be a manager for a team of developers

geared toward new technology for the Internet

“In five years I see myself being in a position where I can lead the marketing team. By then, I hope to have learned more about overseeing other staff members and complementing needs of customers.”

 

5년 후의 저는 마케팅 팀을 인솔하는 위치에 있을 거라고 생각합니다. 그때쯤이면 팀원들을 감독하고 고객들의 요구에 부응하는 것에 대해 보다 많이 배웠기를 기대합니다.

“I'd like to have the opportunity to work in a plant as well as the home office. I also hope to develop my management skills, perhaps by managing a small staff.”

“My strengths lie in interpersonal skills and my persuasion skills. I can usually win people over to my point of view. I possess an intuitive sense of people's talents and ability to contribute to a given problem. These skills seem to me to be directly related to this job. I try to gain knowledge by reading the industry's trade journals. I'm also currently enrolled in a time-management course. I can already see the effects of this course at work in my present job.”

“My key strength is that I am able to think of creative solutions for the problems I encounter. I always believe that a problem may be addressed in a lot of ways, but you need to be creative when thinking of solutions. I am able to think outside of the box. This enables me to find the best solution for every decision I make and every action I take.”

Q3. “Tell me what you learned from a recent book”

- Could you tell me the last book you read and what you got from it?

 

 

Answer 1.

 

“I like reading non-fiction, especially biographies of famous people. The last biography I read was of Thomas Edison. I was impressed that although he faced many difficulties as a young schoolboy, he became one of the leading scientists of his time. This reinforces my belief that if you are determined, you can succeed.”

“I read a marketing book that featured various examples in business today. The book covered success stories, failures, and analysis, which was good because the cases were true.”

네번째 질문은 본인이 즐겨하던 활동이나 취미생활에 관한 질문입니다. 일 외에 본인이 꾸준히 하는 취미나 관심사, 혹은 즐겨하는 각종 활동에 대해 미리 생각해 두고 대답 패턴을 만들어 놓으세요.

“Since college, I've developed a great fondness for helping those in need. I have been a volunteer for hospitals and now, in my free time, I volunteer at a soup kitchen."

 

대학 때부터 어려운 사람들을 돕는 일을 좋아했습니다. 그래서 지금까지 병원에서 자원 봉사를 해왔고 요즘은 시간이 나면 무료급식소에서 활동하고 있습니다.

마지막 기본 질문은 본인이 정말 원하는 이상적인 직업에 관한 내용입니다. 어떤 식으로 대답을 하면 고득점을 얻을 수 있는지 모범 답안을 살펴보시고, 앞으로 하고 싶은 일이나 원하는 직종에 관해 미리 생각해 두세요.

- What's your ideal job?

- Describe your ideal career.

“My dream job is closely matched to this job that I am applying for. I've always seen myself as a manager of an effective, tight-knit team of engineers, and that's what I would like to establish here. In addition, your company is involved in many projects that I have followed with great interest over the past few years.”
